Benjamin C. Mueller, P.E.

Noise Control Engineer

Mr. Mueller is a principal of Ostergaard Acoustical Associates.  Ben obtained his professional engineer licenses based on his expertise in acoustics.  He oversees acoustical testing, analysis, and the development of solutions for architectural, environmental, and industrial projects.  Ben also provides scientific counsel.

Architectural Acoustics Expertise
Adept at noise control for building systems, including HVAC, emergency generators, and rooftop equipment.  Experienced at predicting noise levels in buildings and identifying appropriate noise control measures, including needed sound-isolating constructions.  Many architects and mechanical engineering firms have benefited from Ben’s expertise.

Environmental Acoustics Expertise
Skilled at developing and analyzing 3D computer-based acoustical models.  These models are designed to evaluate both existing and future site emissions.  Ben supervises and carries out on-site acoustical testing, development of noise control solutions, and planning board testimony.  Representative clients include PSE&G, PECO Energy, Orange & Rockland Utilities, and Nextel.

Industrial Noise Control
Expert at evaluating noise in manufacturing environments and identifying noise control measures to conserve hearing and create workable acoustical environments.  Develops noise solutions for equipment and whole facilities as appropriate.  Clients served include Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals, Inc., Johnson & Johnson, Philadelphia Gas Works, Gerdau AmeriSteel, OraSure Technologies, and Synthes.

Scientific Counsel
Provides expert testimony before planning boards, zoning boards, and courts concerning acoustical impact and noise code compliance.  Testimony concerns both existing and future conditions.  Clients typically include utilities, pharmaceutical corporations, and commercial organizations.
